(From 12th to Commercial Pilot License)

STEP 1: Plan Early (During Class 11 or 12)

Goal: Build awareness and save time & money later.

    •    Start preparing for DGCA subjects: Navigation, Meteorology, Technical General, and Air Regulations.

    •    Join online ground school during 12th standard (like 19° Academy!)

Cost: ₹85,000

Savings: Saves 6–8 months after 12th

STEP 2: Clear DGCA Exams + Get Computer Number

Goal: Clear ground subjects before or right after 12th.

    •    Apply for your Computer Number early (takes 1–2 months)

    •    Attempt DGCA papers with proper guidance

Cost: ₹5,000 (exam + computer number fee)

Tip: The earlier you clear, the faster you begin flying.

STEP 3: Choose Cost-Effective Flying School (Smartly)

Goal: Save ₹5–10 lakhs with the right decision.

  • Compare flying hours cost across India.

  • Avoid big-brand names just for their logo—focus on DGCA-approved flying schools with solid maintenance & instructor availability.

  • Choose cities with better weather (fewer delays = fewer wasted months).

Flying Cost Estimate: ₹35-40 lakhs

Tip: Avoid international flying unless you can afford conversion hassles.

STEP 4: Finish RTR Exam + Class 1 Medical Early

Goal: Avoid delays that keep you grounded.

    •    Apply for Class 1 Medical as early as possible.

    •    Attempt RTR (Radio Telephony) as soon as you’re eligible.

Cost:

    •    Medical: ₹2,000–₹10,000

    •    RTR: ₹2,000–₹5,000

STEP 5: Save on ATPL & Airline Prep

Goal: Don’t pay lakhs again after CPL.

  • While flying, revise ATPL subjects so you can clear them later.

  • Join a professional yet affordable airline prep course (like 19° Academy).

Cost: ₹ 50,000-₹70,000

Savings: Avoid ₹1.5–2 lakh courses with no personal guidance.

BONUS TIPS TO SAVE BIG:

    •    Avoid relocating to big cities unless necessary (save rent + food).

    •    Use online classes wherever possible (ground school, interview prep).

    •    Talk to past students before enrolling in a flying school.

    •    Apply for state government subsidies or minority scholarships if eligible.

TOTAL ESTIMATED COST (With Smart Choices): 45-50 lakhs
